I have to give credit to my Mom for this weeks Works For Me Wednesday edition. \u00a0If you know me at all, you know I’m not exactly the most tech savvy person on earth. \u00a0It’s not that I don’t like using<\/em> technology (far from it). \u00a0I just don’t like figuring out how it works. \u00a0Maybe that’s called laziness. \u00a0I prefer to think of it as satisfied. Haha. Funny how we can make something sound so different with just one word.<\/p>\n

It may or may not have taken me months before I switched to using Lightroom after purchasing it. \u00a0Ten months later I can’t imagine why I waited a day.<\/p>\n

Whatever it is, I’m probably not the person you’re going to ask about gadgets.<\/p>\n

But, my mom found this one and I LOVE it. (Told you I like using them as soon as I know how.)<\/p>\n

Maybe everyone else has been using this for the past two years and I’m the only one who was still hanging out in the dark. But, if you haven’t, you will want it.<\/p>\n

What it is:<\/p>\n

A free app you can download on your phone or on your computer. \u00a0You create groups and essentially form your own private chat room.<\/p>\n

Why I love it:<\/p>\n

I can use it on my phone (I don’t have a smart phone) because someone added me to the group. \u00a0With one text, my mom and sisters and I all get the same message.<\/p>\n

If you download the actual app instead of only being added by someone else, you can share pictures, like each others comments, easily see who sent which message, and add emoticons. \u00a0Because we all like those funny smiley faces, right?<\/p>\n

I can use it on my iPad\u00a0and text via wifi when I’m at home and don’t have cellphone service. \u00a0Because it’s all the same group, the messages go to the same place instead of switching conversations from email to text and vice versa.<\/p>\n

Even though we’re spread out from Maryland to Georgia, I feel super connected when I get a quick snippet of what’s happening with the rest of my family.<\/p>\n

It’s perfect for this stage of my life that doesn’t always afford long emails and phone conversations.<\/p>\n
