{"id":2555,"date":"2016-01-01T14:58:33","date_gmt":"2016-01-01T19:58:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.michellebeachy.com\/blog\/?p=2555"},"modified":"2016-01-01T14:58:33","modified_gmt":"2016-01-01T19:58:33","slug":"happy-new-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.michellebeachy.com\/blog\/happy-new-year\/","title":{"rendered":"Happy New Year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s the start of another year and always the perfect time to reflect, dream, plan.<\/p>\n<p>When we were little girls, I read a story about another family who wrote out their bad habits and burned them and then wrote out their New Years resolutions. \u00a0I don&#8217;t recall whether that was the first year Mom\u00a0stayed up with us to see the New Year in or whether we just added that little tidbit to the staying up tradition. \u00a0Being a list oriented person already back then, I was enthralled with the concept.<\/p>\n<p>If only it were that easy to get rid of bad habits and reach new goals.<\/p>\n<p>These days I feel far less inclined to make a list of goals in favor of thoughtful evaluation and dreaming. \u00a0Not that goals are bad in any way, but I know my tendency to get over-achieving list happy and then feel like a failure when I can&#8217;t possibly accomplish it. \u00a0So this year I&#8217;m taking a moment to think about the future.<\/p>\n<p>Like anyone, we have things we are excited about and things that feel heavy. \u00a0But this year, we have one thing our entire family is excited about!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.michellebeachy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/baby-announcement-1-of-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2556\" src=\"http:\/\/www.michellebeachy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/baby-announcement-1-of-1-1024x1024.jpg\" alt=\"baby announcement (1 of 1)\" width=\"700\" height=\"700\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.michellebeachy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/baby-announcement-1-of-1-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.michellebeachy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/baby-announcement-1-of-1-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.michellebeachy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/baby-announcement-1-of-1-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.michellebeachy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/baby-announcement-1-of-1-330x330.jpg 330w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Oh summer, come quickly!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s the start of another year and always the perfect time to reflect, dream, plan.
