Tonight I made scones for our supper. Perfect, wonderful, Irish scones just like Regina taught me. The best I’ve made yet (which isn’t saying much since I’ve only made a handful in my lifetime). We even had the real whipped cream beaten up into soft peaks to top them the way they’re supposed to be eaten. <\/p>\n
The only problem was that it wasn’t entirely perfect. <\/p>\n
I couldn’t see the ocean. I could kind of deal with that. <\/p>\n
We had coffee instead of tea. A little tougher but I still didn’t need therapy or anything. <\/p>\n
The biggest problem was our lack of strawberry jam. <\/p>\n
My mom makes the greatest jams to sell and so I never make any. But there is no strawberry jam like freezer strawberry jam (as opposed to canned strawberry jam). And since I can get all the jam I like at her house, we live in the luxury of black or red raspberry among other varieties. And we are all live very happy jam lives even without strawberry jam. <\/p>\n
Until tonight. <\/p>\n
Scones need strawberry jam. So here’s the deal. If you bring me some strawberry jam, I’ll share my scones with you. Oh, but give me fair warning so I can go to the grocery store first. We ate all the cream tonight.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
