{"id":870,"date":"2007-08-09T08:13:00","date_gmt":"2007-08-09T12:13:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.michellebeachy.com\/blog\/thursday-august-9-2007\/"},"modified":"2007-08-09T08:13:00","modified_gmt":"2007-08-09T12:13:00","slug":"thursday-august-9-2007","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.michellebeachy.com\/blog\/thursday-august-9-2007\/","title":{"rendered":"Thursday August 9, 2007"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><font face=\"Curlz MT\" size=4>Maybe it&#8217;s just because for three and a half years now all the babies in both our families have been blue and I am constantly surrounded by conversations about trucks, construction equipment, hammers, &#8220;work jobs,&#8221; being sixteen, and driving.&nbsp; Maybe it&#8217;s because I&#8217;m female myself.&nbsp; Maybe it&#8217;s because pink is still one of my favorite colors.&nbsp; Maybe a lot of things &#8230;&#8230;. I still think girl babies are cuter.&nbsp; Ok, so of course there are some very darling boy babies and probably some not so beautiful girl babies but speaking in general terms, I don&#8217;t think I&#8217;m the only one who&#8217;s more likely to ooh and aaah over a baby wrapped in pink.&nbsp; <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Curlz MT\" size=4>It&#8217;s not just limited to the babies themselves (in fact, I think, this is most of the problem).&nbsp; Almost everything you can buy for a baby has usually three to four times the selection for girls as they do for boys.&nbsp; Shoes, especially.&nbsp; Hats, sweaters, jackets, and dress clothes run a close second.&nbsp; It&#8217;s not that you can&#8217;t ever find something cute for boys, it&#8217;s just harder.&nbsp; You have to wade past racks and stacks of girl things to find a small selection of boy items.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Curlz MT\" size=4>Speaking of darling girl babies, Christy and I had an awful lot of fun taking pictures and designing a birth announcement for <\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/xanga.com\/kband3\" target=_new><font face=\"Curlz MT\" color=#701010 size=4>Beth&#8217;s<\/font><\/a><font face=\"Curlz MT\" size=4> babies.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Curlz MT\" size=4>And moving on to toddlers and pre-schoolers, I think I prefer boys.&nbsp; The differences between men and women are amazingly present early in life and IMNSHO, boys are much more straightforward.&nbsp; When Adam has issues and get&#8217;s mad, he can change his attitude and move on unlike his (girl) friend who can be snippety all day if the morning starts out wrong.&nbsp; When Adam is crying because he got hurt, I get a defiant, &#8220;I won&#8217;t tell you,&#8221; in answer to the question, &#8220;what&#8217;s wrong?&#8221;&nbsp; Another friend who has a two-year-old daughter said she wails, &#8220;I don&#8217;t know.&#8221;&nbsp; Maybe it&#8217;s just because opposites can complement.&nbsp; Maybe it&#8217;s just because I hear boy conversations all day.&nbsp; Maybe it&#8217;s because I&#8217;m prejudiced and think Adam is one of the cutest, wittiest, smartest three-year-old boys I&#8217;ve seen.&nbsp; Maybe a lot of things.&nbsp; I still love the way Adam is all boy!&nbsp; <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Curlz MT\" size=4>What do you think about the great boy girl debate?&nbsp; If you could, would you choose the gender of your baby?<\/font><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Maybe it&#8217;s just because for three and a half years now all the babies in both our families have been blue and I am constantly surrounded by conversations about trucks,&hellip; <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_dont_email_post_to_subs":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":true,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","enabled":false},"version":2}},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-870","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized"],"jetpack_publicize_connections":[],"jetpack_featured_media_url":"","jetpack_shortlink":"https:\/\/wp.me\/p39ynQ-e2","jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"jetpack-related-posts":[],"jetpack_likes_enabled":true,"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.michellebeachy.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/870","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.michellebeachy.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.michellebeachy.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.michellebeachy.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.michellebeachy.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=870"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.michellebeachy.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/870\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.michellebeachy.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=870"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.michellebeachy.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=870"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.michellebeachy.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=870"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
